Financial Aid Tip For Today

When a student receives their financial aid package from an institution, they will be notified if they qualify for Federal Work Study as part of their financial aid award. The assignment of a particular job on campus is not automatic. The student must apply for available jobs through their campus when they get to school. Sometimes there are jobs available both on and off campus. If you do not qualify for Federal Work Study as part of your financial aid package, you may still find a job on campus as there are often more jobs then work study applicants, and some students do not take advantage of federal work study even though they qualify. This will leave openings for other students. All this means is the job site will be responsible for paying the student's full wages with out being subsidized by the government.
